Best Atlanta Wine Shops: Where to Find Premium Wines

Atlanta, Georgia

As locals know, Atlanta has no shortage of premium restaurant & bar options when it comes to eating and drinking. What about when we’re entertaining guests, or pairing a wine with our homemade dinner? For our fellow winos, here are the Atlanta wine shops we recommend and why.

Perrine’s is an Atlanta gem and was named Atlanta’s Best Wine Shop by Atlanta Magazine in 2022. It was opened by certified Sommelier Perrine Prieur Gallardo, a Burgundy, France native. Perrine’s features over 700 wine selections from all over the world, focusing on family owned and small producers that practices Organic and Biodynamic farming. Each time we’ve stopped in, the team has been so helpful and you can tell they’re excited to share their knowledge about wine. In addition to weekly tastings, they also offer a great variety of lovely Gift Boxes for any occasion.

Taste is one of the newest wine shops to open in Atlanta, in the ridiculously popular Chattahoochee Food Works. Owner and Founder, Ben Ferris, is a Georgia native who has studied wine in California and globally. Taste offers such a cool concept allowing wine lovers to try out over 50 wines from Enomatic Wine Dispensers, with a choice of three different sized pours. The market offers all of the wines featured on tap, as well as another 100 wines hand -selected by the owner. We can’t not mention the food – it’s to-die-for. We LOVE this spot! Date night vibes for days.

Ya’ll, we love this cozy wine shop and have been patrons for several years. Located centrally in the gorgeous Inman Park, VinoTeca boasts itself as a venue for both the connoisseur and the curious to gather and celebrate wine. The collection focuses on organic and biodynamic wines, and includes a large selection of Spanish wines. Every weekend, they host casual themed wine tastings with no reservations required, for only$15. We must also mention, the team here is always so gracious and hospitable when we’ve stopped in for random tastings or to sit and people watch in their stylish sitting area; this shop really can’t be missed.

Cheers!

La Rapière, A Star Dining Experience in Northern France

Bayeux, France

There are endless charming cities and towns to visit in France, and Bayeux is a must if you are planning to make the (short!) trek from Paris to Northern France or Normandy. First, Bayeux is home to the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, a must-do for history buffs. It’s a fascinating visual of the story of William the Conqueror in 1066 – SO cool! Second, it’s a beautiful, quaint city with a great variety of affordable Airbnb & VRBO’s to choose from. Lastly, like most of France, it has an amazing dining scene, with one of favorite meals being had at none other than La Rapière.

We diligently research the best of the best dining options and experiences for all of our travel locations, and can safely say we found the best Bayeux has to offer at La Rapière. We booked well in advance (a year out) to ensure our reservation during our tight travel schedule, and are so happy we did.

When searching for the restaurant on foot, you feel as though you’re stepping into a storybook. It’s located down a narrow alley set between 16th century stone buildings. A simple, metal sign hangs above the entrance. The dining area is very cozy with a small entry bar area and two larger dining rooms. The rooms are designed for an intimate group setting, with parties no larger than 6 permitted. We were seated at a table for two, tucked away in a charming corner.

The owners, Linda and Simon, describe their fare as simple but gourmet food, inspired by the traditional French cuisine, made with quality and seasonal products. Linda stopped by our table to chat after the meal, and is so sweet an endearing, with so much pride in the dining experience they provide. We were honestly blown away by the taste and presentation of each course, as well as the wine selection! It’s no surprise the Michelin Guide awarded La Rapière a Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value cooking.

If you’re looking for a way to elevate your experiences in la Normandie, this is your spot. Bon Appétit.

Discover Delta’s Non-Stop Flights from ATL to Global Hotspots

We’re so lucky to have Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) International Airport as our home airport, and even luckier to have Delta as the hometown airline of Atlanta.

Why? ATL is crowned the busiest airport in the world and offers flights to basically any destination across the globe with less travel hassle than say, a smaller, less-efficient airport. Delta is our preferred airline and they offer a great travel rewards program (Skymiles), with several tiers to choose from based on your travel needs & preferences. The Delta Skyclubs are definitely our jam.

With so many options for your next getaway, let’s narrow down the options to Delta’s top non-stop flight destinations from ATL. Who wants to spend extra time switching flights when you could be sipping Ouzo post-dinner on a Grecian beach?

Babyzen YOYO2: The Ultimate Luxe Travel Stroller for Frequent Flyers

the luxe travel stroller for frequent flyers.

We know there are what seems like a million reviews on travel strollers, including the Babyzen YOYO2, and with good reason! Families traveling with their mini’s want to know they’re getting the best value for what they’re paying, especially when a luxe travel stroller is what they’re seeking ($$$).

First, here are the other luxe stroller finalists we were considering before purchasing the YOYO2:

  1. Bugaboo Butterfly ($449) 16.09 lbs with compact measurements of 17.72*9.06*21.26 in
  2. Joolz Aer+ ($449) 13.23 lbs with compact measurements of ‎21*x 17.7*8.5 in
  3. Nuna TRVL ($500) 13.6 lbs but is too large for an overhead compartment

After hours of research on material quality, maneuverability, smoothness of ride, and ease of folding & opening, we came to the conclusion most luxe travel strollers are comparable and easily fit the luxe category. We did see several reviews stating the material of the Bugaboo Butterfly starts to pile shortly after beginning use, and buyers are understandably not happy with that considering the price-point.

For us, it came down to the compact size of the stroller and could it fit into the overhead compartment of most planes? When flying, especially long-haul, anything that helps the trip run more smoothly and efficiently is, in our opinion, 100% worth it. This decision becomes even easier when traveling with a babe/toddler!

At $449, similar cost to other luxe travel strollers, the overhead fit sealed our decision: the Babyzen YOYO2 is almost always guaranteed to fit in the overhead compartment of most planes, allowing us to bring our stroller on the plane with us (it’s even narrow enough to drive the aisle!) and grab it for a quick exit post landing.

Other travel strollers also boast an ultra-compact fold with IATA-compatibility (airline overhead-approved size), however, review after review revealed the YOYO2 to be the only compact stroller consistently allowed on flights. We would rather have the high probability of bringing an expensive stroller on with us, than gambling with the chance of damage occurring after checking it at the gate. Ofcourse, the stroller will count as a carry-on so it may limit what else you can bring onboard.

When folded, the YOYO2 has a very compact fold measuring 20.5*17.3*7.1 inches and is ultra-lightweight at 13.7 lbs. One point to note is while it does allow for one-handed unfold, the fold-to-compact takes two hands. The YOYO2 comes with a travel bag and has several gorgeous colors to choose from, with either a black or white frame. Compatible bassinets are available for newborns, which would of course affect your ability to bring it onto the plane. It does not come with a bumper bar so I ordered this one from Amazon that still allows the stroller to fold without removing the bar.

Happy travels from our jet-setting babe to yours!

Unforgettable Dining Experience at Restaurant DANIEL, NYC

NYC, New York

OK ya’ll, I’ve been so excited to feature Restaurant DANIEL for a while now. Our dining experience here has stayed in my mind since our visit and I would die to go back. Aside from being MICHELIN-starred (2*) and providing an amazing French culinary experience, this Upper East Side restaurant is gorgeous, grand and honestly so FUN. Not a typical word I would use to describe a lot of restaurants of this caliber, but I’ll explain why.

After making my way through the main entrance, we met the hostess who directed us to the front bar for drinks as we waited for our table. It’s a quaint area, richly decorated with, ofcourse, great cocktails. Dirty Martini for me, please.

After pre-dinner cocktails, we were seated in the grand dining room, and when I say grand, it is truly that (3,000 sq ft). Our table was located at the top of the room, where we could people-watch and really take in the full experience (and that we did!).

After enjoying several (large!) glasses of red wine and our 7-course meal, I can safely say this is an experience I will never forget. In total, we were there for about 3 hours and were sad to leave. All of the staff, including the waiters, were beyond accommodating and friendly; they brought us out so many extra items to try that were not including in the course.

Restaurant DANIEL has remained a staple in the NYC dining scene since 1993. Owner and Chef, Daniel Boulud, is considered one of the most revered chefs in New York. He works alongside Executive Chef, Eddy Leroux. You can take a look at the current course offering here. Visit the restaurant’s instagram for a peek into their culinary creations and updates on their rotating fine art program.

A truly elevated experience from arrival through dessert. Bon Appétit!

Discover Hotel Bel-Air: Dorchester Collection’s Los Angeles Gem

Los Angeles, California

If I could choose one place to stay every time I’m in LA, it would be Hotel Bel-Air. The history of Hotel Bel-Air dates back to the early 20th century, making it one of the most iconic and historic landmarks in Los Angeles. With it’s lush, tropical setting, it’s so easy to feel like I’ve escaped the city and found my way to a literal 12-acre pink paradise. With it’s exclusive & serene setting, this hidden gem is where discerning travelers and celebrities alike can maintain their privacy and unwind.

Part of the Dorchester Collection of luxury hotels, Hotel Bel-Air is one of 11 hotels worldwide, and one of only 2 in Los Angeles. The other being the fabulous Beverly Hills Hotels (another feature entirely)!

The hotel offers a range of luxurious rooms, suites, and private villas, each designed with elegant interiors and modern amenities, including cozy fireplaces. Other amenities include the always fantastic Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air outdoor restaurant as well as a spa and stately pool that has surely witnessed the most glamorous guests.

To add more intrigue, there is even a gorgeous, tranquil lake that meanders through the property and houses swans. Yes, actual, live swans. A stay here will cost at minimum $1,200 per night, but I can’t recommend it enough for a true elevated experience.
